“…bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.” – Colossians 3:13 Grudges, complaining, gossiping, being a negative nancy, we’ve all been there and it seems like we know best how to get all
“Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices.” – Colossians 3:9 As Christians, we know that when we lie, we are living out our “old self,” meaning life before Christ. Does that mean we will never lie after we have trusted in Christ?
“Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” – Philippians 2:3 In regards to respecting one another, the Bible says to count others more significant than ourselves out of humility. We are to do nothing out of rivalry or vain conceit, selfish ambition, etc.
“…submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.” – Ephesians 5:21 Reverence can also be defined as “a feeling of profound respect for someone or something.” Out of that same reverence for Christ, we should submit to one another according to His Word.
“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” – Ephesians 4:32 As we come across various opportunities today with different people, let us first remember that Christ has forgiven us.
