“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” – Romans 8:28
It’s easy to get distracted by the pace and problems of life and forget the simplicity of this promise. Relying on our own knowledge, strength and experience comes a little too easy and if we don’t keep our reliance grounded in God, we may forget to include Him in the solution entirely.
And We Know That All Things Work Together For Good
All things. Not a few. Not some. All. We are certainly going to face challenges as Christians. Grief and joy are both promised on this side of Heaven, but there isn’t a situation where we are left without the providence of God in our life. We can take comfort in the promise that he will never leave us or forsake us and that things will work together for “the good” according to God’s perspective.
To Those Who Love God
We are incapable of loving God without God providing us the ability to love him. This is possible through a saving-relationship with God made possible by God.
If you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, you will be saved and in a loving relationship with God.
To Those Who Are Called According To His Purpose
If you are a Christian, you definitely have a purpose to glorify God. Whatever the circumstance, God can use His people to bring Him glory. When we are distracted to the point of relying on ourselves, bringing God glory may not be the goal and it can make matters worse. Remembering our purpose sheds light on the holy perspective we are to have on a daily basis.
I hope Romans 8:28 brings you comfort and that busyness will take a backseat to holiness when it comes to your approach to the day.
