3 Steps to Avoid Limitation

3 Steps to Avoid Limitations

Between my toddler and I, I don’t know who was more excited about going to the zoo.

For her, the mention of going to see lions and tigers and bears evokes squeals of joy.

For me, I hadn’t been to a zoo in many years and was looking forward to appreciating God’s handiwork of these beasts up close.

We weren’t disappointed. If you are in the area, the Fort Worth Zoo is worth checking out.

While we roamed from habitat to habitat and cage-to-cage, I couldn’t help thinking many of these beasts and birds were designed to roam larger spaces. It reminded me how we often limit ourselves as Christians when it comes to God’s plan for us and how unlimited we can be if we seek, trust and act according to His plans.

God Wants Us To Seek Him

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near.” – Isaiah 55:6

Are you seeking God continuously? It’s easy in a fast-paced society to want quick fixes and answers, but God isn’t bound by our timelines, deadlines or headlines. If you are feeling bound by any of those, it’s in your ability to call on God and ask Him to guide you in all areas of your life and to pray the same for others as well.

God Wants Us To Trust Him

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” – Proverbs 3:5

What is your own understanding? Are you spending more time trusting in your own experience, abilities and solutions than seeking God? Maybe a good way to seek God is asking Him how to trust Him with all of your heart and admitting your own understanding is limited.

God Wants Us To Act

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” – Colossians 3:23

If working for the Lord is your motivation and not pleasing others or yourself, you are fit for good works and God can use you in unlimited ways. Seeking and trusting Him will reveal the steps He wants you to take and being obedient to act to bring Him glory will open up possibilities you may have not considered.

Christian, you were meant to roam the larger spaces God provides.

You are God’s handiwork.
