“Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”
-Ephesians 4:15-16
I’ve found myself recently reading a lot out of Ephesians. When we get to Chapter 4, we see Paul yet again pleading for unity within the church. In Ephesians 4:1, Paul “urges [us] to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which [we’ve] been called.” The Scriptures call for believers to unite together as one, in genuine love, and for each of us to walk, to play the part God has called and equipped for each of us to play. Each part, each person, has a different role, with different gifts. BUT the body needs each person to do its part. And when that happens, when each person within the church, is “working properly,” that’s when the body will grow more into Christ.
For those that do this – thank you for faithfully continuing to play your part. The Church would not be growing further into Christ without each of you doing what you are doing. Thank you very much!
Is there anyone in your church that is not playing his/her part? Is there anyone you know of that is not using the gifts that God has equipped him/her with to help all of us grow in Christ?
Would you help the church, continue to grow by asking each person within your area how they are using their gifts to strengthen and grow the body? A lot of times all it takes to get someone going is simply us asking.
My prayer is that every follower of Christ within the church would be actively playing their part, “each part is working properly,” for the growth of our church into Christ!
I love you guys. Press on!
