“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” Matthew 6:9-13
Over the weekend I had an encounter with a pair of Jehovah Witnesses. To say the least, it did not go well. I bombed that opportunity to show the love of Christ and speak truth in love. I say this because this was one of the passages they used to try and distort truth.
God has since kept these words stuck in my mind: “Your kingdom come, your will be done.”
The answer to what Jehovah Witnesses are missing, the answer to those who are lost and confused in our lives, the answer to those we know, and those of us, who are hurting is that the kingdom of God come down and touch our lives. And that is God’s will! God’s will for our lives is that His kingdom come, in the person of Jesus, and personally take reign in our lives. And when He does, and when we die to our own selfish kingdom and submit to His, that is when we will know His joy, satisfaction and peace in life.
The world as we know will be totally different as the kingdom of God comes and as His will is done.
Prayer this week: that God’s kingdom would increase in our lives and that we would be compelled by the love of Christ to tangibly take His kingdom to those around us.
I love you guys. Press on!
