So many of us are walking around trying to find the meaning of life. We are wanting to have a purpose, to have value, to have meaning. We look for it in our jobs, in our families, in our entertainment, in relationships, you name it, we are searching. Why? Because we know something is off. We know there is something wrong and somewhere, somehow, out there, there is more to life.
Have you ever felt this way? Have you found yourself wandering through life that when the moments come up for you to reflect about it, you JUST KNOW something else is going on, but can’t quite put your finger on it?
Well, I have good news for you. There IS a deeper meaning to life. You DO have value, purpose, and meaning. So MUCH more than you even realize. There IS a calling on your life to do something specific and that would provide much more fulfillment than you could ever imagine.
Jesus is that answer.
Jesus provides us with life. And not just eternal life, but abundant life…right here, and right now.
The reason it feels like something is off and there is more is because there IS something off with the world and with our lives and there IS something more. We were created by God with such great purposes and values, that along the way as sin entered the world…we along with the world became broken.
The good news of Jesus is that He came to fix all of this. To fix this world, to fix you and me. By living a perfect life, dying on the cross, and rising again from the grave, He defeated death and sin in Victory.
Jesus provides us with life. Eternal life AND abundant life right here, and right now.
It is now through Jesus, that we know our purpose, our value, and our calling in our lives. It is only through Jesus, that we can truly now experience what real life is all about.
Here is what the Bible has to say with scripture on life:
John 6:35 – Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
John 10:10 – The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
Colossians 3:1-4 – If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Romans 6:11 – So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:2 – For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
John 6:63 – It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
Romans 8:11 – If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
Job 33:4 – The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
Acts 2:28 – You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence.
Proverbs 3:1-2 – My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.
What does the Bible have to say about other topics?
Yes sir very good message. I was thinking today how you very seldom see the John 3:16 signs people use to hold up during football telecasts. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” I would like to see Romans 5:8 displayed too “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Keep doing what Paul told Timothy “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long… Read more »
Thanks Dave so much for reading and for the encouragement!
Absolutely! That’s the great thing about the word–it encourages us…thank the Lord for the opportunity to share the good news of the gospel…so important for the times we are living in–when it’s hid from so many. “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” (2 Corinthians 4:3-4) Keep on keeping on….
