Faithful is defined as “true to one’s word, promises, vows, etc.” or “reliable, trusted, believed.” We all appreciate someone who is faithful and trustworthy at the end of the day, but often have a hard time finding someone who hasn’t let us down before.
We are often guarded of making new relationships because of trust issues and frankly, because it takes a lot of time to build up a relationship, to build up faithfulness in someone else.
I think because of this very reason we have a hard time believing in a God who is perfectly faithful, every…single…day. We either doubt His faithfulness when we think we have let him down and He will be upset with us, or we just straight up can’t believe someone would be perfectly faithful.
All we have to do is look at Jesus to remember God is faithful and with us every day.
The fact that Jesus lived a perfect life, paid the penalty for our sins and died, and rose again from the grave defeating death and sin in victory should remind us that God is faithful, and we can’t forget that. Sometimes we are too quick to “move on from the Gospel” that we think “yea yea I know what Jesus did…BUT…_______.” Whatever we put in the blank reveals what we think is most important in that moment.
Christian, walk confidently today knowing God is faithful in all circumstances. Not only for your daily provision, but for your salvation and for your eternity. So no matter what you face, remember He is with you and Jesus is better.
