To say the least, this has been a long season. Joelle and I have been seeking out The Lord and His plans for us after sensing something was stirring within us that was different. We couldn’t quite put our finger on it so we just decided to take a long season of praying and reading the Bible, believing the Holy Spirit will speak clearly to us to reveal what was going on.
Not only did God reveal answers, but such specific answers to both of us when we didn’t even talk about it. After all of this time we decided that this could only be God clearly giving us direction and that’s how we landed at the decision to move to Austin to help plant and build Austin Life Church.
I’ll be joining the staff as one of the pastors at Austin Life and our family will be teaming up with Apartment Life at an apartment community in the central Austin area soon to help minister to and love our neighbors, learn more about the city, and invite people into a relationship with Christ and into the Church.
It’s been an exciting and terrifying season all at the same time which we believe is exactly where God wants us. He wants us completely dependent on Him and honestly, that is just normal behavior for the follower of Jesus. While this is a transition, it’s no different than any other day of following Jesus where His power is made perfect in our weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

Please pray for wisdom, pray for guidance, pray that all the funds are raised for Austin Life Church, pray for us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus through all of this and to not be distracted on the cares of this world or the unknowns ahead for us. We’ve never been in this position before and while we are excited for what’s ahead, we know prayer is the work and we need Jesus every step of the way.

People are already showing up in community, people are expressing interest to follow Jesus, to get baptized, to join the Church, to start serving, etc. It’s amazing with everything that’s happening and things are just now barely getting started!
