Has God called you into Leadership with the position you have or calling you with a position you are seeking? Maybe you are currently leading a group of people within an organization or volunteering? It could be you might just be seeking out what Leadership is in general?

Wherever you are in Leadership or however you are seeking it, the Bible has much to say about it.

Here is Scripture on Leadership:

1 Peter 5:2-3 – Shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.

Matthew 20:25-28 – But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

1 Timothy 3:2-5 – Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church?

Acts 20:28 – Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.

Galatians 6:9 – And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Romans 13:1 – Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

1 Timothy 5:17 – Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching.

1 Timothy 4:12 – Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

Proverbs 4:23 – Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.

Matthew 5:37 – Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.

There are many resources out there too on Leadership including “What the Bible Says About Leadership and Delegation” by Michael Hyatt, or Recommended Books on Leadership by TGC. These can serve as fantastic resources when looking this up.
