Scripture is filled with reminders on how we need to trust God and why we should do so. Undoubtedly because of our sin, we still fall short of this daily with how we live our lives. For believers, we need to be reminded with the Word that God is good….indeed all the time, and that we can trust Him in every circumstance. For the nonbeliever, it’s important to seek out what the Bible has to say about God and why you can trust Him.
We often find ourselves going through difficult times when we are questioning God and our trust of Him the most. These are the times I believe we need to anchor on to Scripture. It’s always easier to remind someone else to trust God through difficult times then it is to tell ourselves that. We have a hard time seeing beyond what we are currently going through ourselves.
If we believe Jesus has died on the Cross and rose again, defeating death and sin in victory, we can surely believe that God will provide our every need, in any circumstance we are going through.
Let’s look and see what the Bible has to say with Scripture on Trusting God:
Psalm 118:8 – It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.
John 14:1 – Jesus said, “Trust in God; trust also in me.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Psalm 40:4 – Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie!
Psalm 37:4-6 – Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.
Isaiah 30:15 – For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”
Isaiah 28:16 – Therefore thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am the one who has laid as a foundation in Zion, a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation: ‘Whoever believes will not be in haste.’
Isaiah 26:3-4 – You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 – “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
