Scripture on Salvation

Scripture on Salvation

Sometimes we as followers of Christ get so focused on what it means to follow Jesus, serve our neighbor, our communities, read the right things, listen to the right things, etc. we sometimes get lost in the midst of everything and forget about salvation.

Now I’m not saying at all any of those things are bad, in fact, they are great, but if we move on from reflecting on salvation (like we treat it as a one and done kind of a thing), we are going to be in trouble.

Everything hinges on the fact that Jesus came, lived, died, and rose again, making salvation available to all of us.

If we start the day reflecting on salvation, that’ll drive us to follow Jesus, serve our neighbor, our communities, and read and listen to the things that will grow us closer to God. It’s Jesus loving us first that motivates us to love others (1 John 4:19).

Jesus came, lived, died, and rose again, making salvation available to everyone.

Here is what the Bible has to say with scripture on salvation:

2 Peter 3:9 – The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

1 Timothy 2:3-4 – This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

John 3:16-17 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

2 Corinthians 6:2 – For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Romans 10:9 – Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Acts 10:43 – To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.

Hebrews 5:9 – And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him.

Mark 16:16 – Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Titus 3:5 – He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 40:2 – He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.
