“Let Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.” – Ephesians 4:25
As the Church we are to build up one another, strengthen and encourage one another, and the best way to do this is to speak truth to one another. One of the greatest values we have towards our brothers and sisters in Christ is to be bold in speaking the truth and putting away falsehood.
Authentic relationships is key. When you are struggling with something, speak up, don’t hold back. If someone else is struggling or in sin, speak up, don’t hold back. This of course is led by Scripture and not by emotion so when I say speak up, I mean out of love and led with truth, not screaming at someone.
Paul wanted us to understand in Ephesians that we are to build up and edify the Church to remember to put off the old self, and put on the new self created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
Who can you speak truth to, today?
