“…submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.” – Ephesians 5:21
Reverence can also be defined as “a feeling of profound respect for someone or something.” Out of that same reverence for Christ, we should submit to one another according to His Word.
This doesn’t necessarily mean just do whatever anyone says, but rather do things the way God has designed it (Wives submit to Husbands, Children obey their parents, etc.) as is fitting unto the Lord. If that submissiveness means to do something that would not glorify Him, be against Him, or if someone is taking advantage of Scripture for selfish ambition, you can be confident that you shouldn’t do it.
As we go about our day today, who can we submit to out of reverence for Christ?
